As Hispanic Action Network finishes 61 days of prayer we have carried the burdens of our nation to the throne of God with fervency, including the heart-breaking, tragic death of George Floyd. We clearly stand in solidarity with our African American brothers and sisters in demanding #JusticeforGeorgeFloyd. Enough is enough. There is no room for racism nor police brutality anywhere, anytime. This senseless death caused by these 4 individual police officers has put our nation on edge with protesting and rioting. We pray for the blue, we back the blue, we support the blue, we work with the blue and will continue to do so but this egregious act that led to the death of George Floyd is indefensible. Having said that, this act should not taint our view of law enforcement and our fellow man because of Chauvin’s hideous actions, a man who should have lost the honor of wearing the badge long ago. So we affirm our support for those brave and courageous officers that are doing what they have been called by God to do which is to “Protect & Serve” our communities. We honor and thank you for your service. And to the Floyd family, we mourn with you and offer our prayers, love and support. "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly." Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Letter from Birmingham Jail, April 16, 1963 #Pray #Peace #Justice #Protection #Safety #Healing #NOMoreViolence #MarchInPeace #JusticeforGeorgeFloyd #PeaceOnTheLeftJusticeOnTheRight #GeorgeFloyd
